The Best Vialia and Station Store Outlet Awards took place on 22 January at Fitur, the international tourism fair held in Madrid.

The awards consider customer service, product placement, aftersales service, staff image, product or service rotation, lighting, and engagement in promotional campaigns and studies, among other factors.

Areas Director for Concepts & Standards, Spain and Portugal Mathieu Herrrero and Fernando Sánchez, Director of Highways, City Center and Railways, Spain and Portugal were on-hand to accept the award.

“We are very proud of this award, further recognition of our ongoing effort to create innovative quality concepts that satisfy the needs of customers and concessionaires,” said Sánchez. “COMO Sants is one of our flagship concepts and is delivering excellent results. It surprises visitors with a modern and varied offering and a contemporary and groundbreaking décor.”

COMO is described by Areas as “a self-serve store for the 21st century”. It offers a range of fresh, natural, and regional products in “modern yet timeless” surroundings.

COMO Sants also features a 78sq m patio area with a contemporary design inspired by downtown street food concepts.

Areas’s Eureka! travel convenience store at Girona station was another award finalist.
