The company will also open a 177sq m Italian restaurant, Rossopomodoro, in the boarding area, with a 67sq m terrace.

Areas CEO in Spain, Portugal and Latin America Oscar Vela said: “We are very proud of our consolidation in the Portuguese market. In the last year we have conquered two new airports- Funchal and Faro- thanks to the quality of our proposals which combines franchised brands with established co-branded outlets. We are especially satisfied with our first Rossopomodoro outlet, a widely renowned brand whose product quality and attraction for customers perfectly fits our philosophy.”
