Areas opens Paul bakeries at Ibiza and Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas airports

SPAIN. Areas, the Elior Group international catering subsidiary, has opened two new Paul outlets at Ibiza and Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas airports.

The 195sq m Ibiza outlet is located in departures while the 199sq m Madrid unit is in the Terminal 2 departure area, Air Zone.

Paul was founded as a French bakery in 1889. Now an international brand, it is present in 43 countries and offers coffee and bakery services.

Adding a French touch to airport dining: Paul opens at Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport.

The airport outlets offer pastries, quiches, coffees and a selection of sandwiches. Areas described the outlets’ décor as a combination of glamour and tradition.

Areas said the new openings underline the company’s search for innovative franchised brands and its commitment to “modernising the culinary options in Spain’s airports with fashionable proposals suited to the needs of all travellers”.

The opening of Paul in Ibiza marks the culmination of an ambitious plan to transform the airport’s food and beverage concept to turn it into a new ‘foodie’ centre on the island, the company added.

Areas manages 50 outlets from 26 different brands at Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport. The company was awarded an eight-year contract to open seven new establishments at Malaga Airport earlier this month.
