Areas opens “flagship” Sibarium Delicatessen at Madrid-Barajas Airport T4

SPAIN. Areas has opened a new Sibarium Delicatessen at Madrid-Barajas Adolfo Suárez Airport Terminal 4. Sibarium is Areas’ gourmet products retail brand only for airports and the company said the T4 outlet was its new “flagship”.

The 150sq m unit houses a tasting bar allowing travellers to sample a selection of products. These include platters of Iberian hams and cheeses, toast and small sandwiches from Iberian hams and cold cuts to preserves, foie gras and cheese. The menu also includes sweet items and a wide range of beverages: wines and cavas, vermouths, sangria and beers, as well as soft drinks and coffees. The new Sibarium Delicatessen will feature various regular tastings of the range.

Areas said: “The Sibarium Delicatessen line combines the most representative products of Spanish cuisine with Madrid’s most characteristic specialities. This authentic culinary showcase offers the most exclusive, high-quality gourmet Guarantee of Origin Spanish products: cold cuts, ham, cheese, oil, spices, honey, marmalades, sweets, wines from Madrid and other exquisite national and regional specialities for the most demanding palates. There is also a range of products to give as souvenirs such as cookies and personalised gift boxes with motifs from the city of Madrid.”

Areas currently runs 11 Sibarium Delicatessen outlets at Madrid Barajas, El Prat, Palma de Mallorca, Menorca and Seville airports, with a new store at Valencia Airport to follow this year.
