SPAIN. Areas, the international catering arm of Elior Group, has opened two food & beverage outlets at Málaga Costa del Sol Airport.
The launches of ice cream parlour Carte d’Or Gelateria and MásQMenos ham and tapas bar are part of an eight-year contract awarded by airport operator Aena to open seven new establishments at the airport.
Both Carte d’Or Gelateria and MásQMenos are located in Terminal 3 departures and each covers an area of 50sq m. The former has capacity for 20 guests, while MásQMenos has capacity for 25.
There are currently 18 MásQMenos outlets in Spain, offering a varied menu based around ham and Iberian sausages. The concept can also be found at Madrid and Bilbao airports.
The other F&B outlets will be added this year, including premium sushi bar Kirei, overseen by chef Ricardo Sanz, and a BiBo restaurant from chef Dani Garcia.
Areas already manages two outlets at Malaga, which is the fourth-busiest airport in Spain, handling 18.6 million passengers each year.
