SPAIN. Areas has announced the opening of a branch of pastry-maker Boldú at Barcelona-El Prat airport. The new outlet is located in Terminal 1 departures and covers 205sq m.
Boldú was founded in Barcelona in 1939 and now has 10 branches in the city, the capital of the northern region Catalonia. The concept is best-known for its ‘Bolduman’ pastry, a soft-textured dough shaped into a smiling figure and glazed.
The branch also offers gluten-free and vegan items, sandwiches, wraps, smoothies and coffee.
The opening of Boldú is one of 15 new and planned concessions at the airport. Global travel catering company Areas has opened eight outlets recently at El Prat, including Javier de las Muelas with Montesquiu and Dry Martini, Santa Gloria and Deli&Cia, with another seven to be launched soon.
