LEBANON. Aer Rianta International (ARI) has appointed Andrew Baker as General Manager at Phoenicia Aer Rianta Company (PAC), running Beirut Duty Free.

Baker re-joins the travel retailer from Dublin Airport’s commercial team. He had previously worked for many years at ARI, beginning in 1991 at Moscow Duty Free. He worked on the Eurotunnel project in 1994 and in Cyprus in 1996, before returning to Moscow in 1998 and moving to Qatar in 2002.

Baker then became ARI’s Implementation Manager at Auckland Airport, where he oversaw the opening of the company’s first duty free shop in New Zealand.

ARI Chief Operations Officer Gerry Crawford said: “I’m delighted that Andrew has taken up the General Manager position in Beirut Duty Free. His extensive experience from both the airport and travel retail perspective will be of enormous benefit to the local team.”
