UK. American Express has revealed plans to open its first Centurion Lounge in Europe, at London Heathrow Airport Terminal 3. It will be the second Centurion Lounge outside the USA (after Hong Kong) and will open in T3 airside in 2019.
“Both in business and their personal lives, our premium card members are living more globally, and we are committed to meeting their needs wherever they go,” said American Express SVP Global Loyalty & Benefits Chris Cracchiolo. “London has long been a top city our Platinum and Centurion Cardmembers travel through, so it made perfect sense to open our first Centurion Lounge in Europe and second location outside of the US, at Heathrow.”
In addition to the existing amenities found across Centurion Lounge locations – such as food & beverage, showers, access to high speed wi-fi and private noise-buffering work stations – the 7,000sq ft lounge will feature curated amenities influenced by British hospitality, culture and style, according to American Express.
Heathrow Head of Property John Arbuckle said: “We are really proud to welcome Europe’s first Centurion Lounge to Heathrow. The lounge will offer a unique and premium experience for American Express customers and a comfortable haven, bringing to life the essence of modern British hospitality.”
In addition to The Centurion Lounge at Heathrow, American Express recently announced new locations coming to Denver International Airport, Los Angeles International Airport, New York John F. Kennedy Airport and Charlotte Douglas International Airport.
Current locations for The Centurion Lounge include New York LaGuardia, Las Vegas McCarran International, Dallas/Fort Worth International, San Francisco International, Miami International, Seattle-Tacoma International, Houston George Bush International, Philadelphia International and Hong Kong International.
Access to The Centurion Lounge is complimentary and exclusive for Platinum card members and Centurion members.
