‘Ambitious and audacious’: Geneva Airport reveals F&B tender awards

SWITZERLAND. Geneva Airport today announced the results of an open tender launched last August for its food & beverage concessions. The management of 22 bars and restaurants divided into several different lots was included in the tender.

The largest lot, including land and airside foodcourts as well as the gourmet restaurant currently managed by SSP, has been awarded to Autogrill Suisse.

What the airport described as an innovative concept from Montreux Jazz Café as well as a “new trendy bar” will be established in a co-operation with Caviar House & Prunier in the airside boarding area and replace the existing units currently managed by Autogrill Suisse.

Swiss Canonica will retain its units located in the satellites as well as two outlets at Arrivals and two in the French sector of the airport. Tekoe keeps the tea bar at the arrivals level.

Geneva Airport said that 20 operators presented strong bids, and that it was “very satisfied with the success encountered by this tender procedure”.

It continued: “The results of the tender procedure rewards ambitious and also audacious projects serving the willingness to innovate and improve the passenger experience.”

Full details of the selected projects will be released later. “They will contribute to the diversity of Geneva Airport’s commercial offer, staying in line with customer expectations,” the company said.

“It should be noted that this selective [tender] procedure leads to the success of players with strong local and Swiss dimensions, which confirm the position of Geneva Airports in the regional economic environment,” the company concluded.

The new outlets will open on a phased basis from October 2015 through the first half of 2016.
