Akvinta Vodka in a packaging exclusive to Virgin Atlantic Airways |
CROATIA. Akvinta Vodka, “˜The first Mediterranean luxury vodka’, has gained a listing on board Virgin Atlantic Airways in its first foray into travel retail.
The vodka, developed by Adriatic Distillers, is available in a 70cl bottle presented in “˜unique, innovative’ packaging exclusive to Virgin Atlantic.
The full Akvinta range includes a 5cl miniature and 70cl, 75cl and 1 litre bottles.
Akvinta was also introduced to the Virgin Atlantic Airways Clubhouse at New York JFK Airport in April.
According to the company, the brand’s alliance with Virgin Atlantic was a success and created great opportunities to introduce Akvinta to a larger audience.
In May a competition was held among the clubhouse staff to create a cocktail by the name of “˜Stoic Virgin’.
The staff were tasked to create a cocktail that fitted the name and reflected Akvinta’s taste and feel as well as Virgin’s ethos.
The winning cocktail was selected in a tasting and is said by the company to be well received in the clubhouse.
The Stoic Virgin will only be served in the Virgin Clubhouse and at London department store Harrods.
