Airports of Thailand extends relief package for hard-hit concessionaires and airlines

THAILAND.  Airports of Thailand (AOT) is to extend a range of assistance measures for concessionaires and airlines affected by the COVID-19 outbreak at the six airports covered by the authority – Bangkok Suvarnabhumi, Bangkok Don Mueang International, Phuket International, Chiang Mai International, Hat Yai International and Mae Fah Luang-Chiang Rai International.

As reported, AOT had already introduced a -20% reduction in fixed monthly concession charges from 1 February 2020 to 31 January 2021. In December 2020, those measures were extended until 31 March 2022, with some variance (dependent on passenger traffic) at different locations.

Partners at Suvarnabhumi Internatonal Airport in Bangkok, led by King Power International, and other major airports will welcome the extension of assistance measures

In a note to investors, AOT announced today that concessionaires and airlines are still being affected by the Covid-19 outbreak in many countries and the pandemic’s “new wave” in Thailand.
