Airports Authority of India issues duty free RFP for Chandigarh International Airport

INDIA. Airports Authority of India has issued a Request for Proposals for a three-year duty free contract at Chandigarh International Airport Limited.

The contract covers the development, building, finance, operation and maintenance of duty free shops in arrivals and departures.

The airport serves the city of Chandigarh, the capital of the northern Indian states of Punjab and Haryana. A new terminal was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in September 2015 but international flights only commenced last year.

The contract covers 598sq m of retail space. Bids close on 21 April at 11.00 and will be opened at 11.30 the same day. A pre-bid meeting will be held on 6 April.

Technical offers will be assessed first. Compliant bids will then be judged on their financial proposals. The bidder offering the highest revenue share (must be over 13%) will be awarded the contract. The concessionaire will pay the quoted revenue share or the minimum monthly guarantee, whichever is higher.

The winning retailer can sell liquor, tobacco, beauty products, food & confectionery, watches and jewellery, consumer technology and destination merchandise.
