Airport Commercial Revenues Study 2012 attracts industry-wide interest

INTERNATIONAL. Following the publication of the latest Airport Commercial Revenues Study, published by The Moodie Report in partnership with The S-A-P Group, a large number of companies from all sectors of the industry have registered their interest in this respected business intelligence tool.

The seventh edition of the ACRS is designed to allow airports to benchmark their commercial performance against that of their peers around the world, and to give an accurate picture of the airport retail business today.

The eagerly-anticipated ACRS 2012 features data from airports of all sizes across the globe, and includes details of spend per passenger in a number of commercial sectors, including duty free (and duty paid retail for intra-EU airports), food & beverage, other retail, car parking, advertising and currency exchange.

The 260-page study also analyses details of dwell time and penetration rate, along with commercial management indicators such as concession structure and contract length.

The ACRS also features an in-depth ‘concession tracker’ which presents the status of key commercial contracts in airports around the world.

The result is a comprehensive study that offers users valuable, actionable data on today’s airport retail business.

The Moodie Report Research Manager Victoria Bowskill said: “We are pleased with the response from the industry to the launch of the ACRS 2012. This study fulfils a genuine need within the industry for actionable benchmarking data. By including data on spend per passenger by product category, for example, the study is broad in its appeal and usefulness. The inclusion of our unique “˜concession tracker’ further enhances the value of the ACRS, for airports, retailers, suppliers and consultants.”

The S-A-P Group President Bill Matz added: “As airport commercial planning consultants, we are keenly aware of the types of analysis and benchmarking that are most important to ACRS readers. Key data such as sales and income per departing passenger for the major product categories are incorporated, alongside a number of useful management indicators.

“The commercial data in the study has been grouped into categories based on airport location and size, as measured by the number of passenger movements per annum. The aggregation of data in this way has allowed participating airports to share their data on an anonymous basis, which has led to a substantial increase in participation rates from prior editions of the study report. We’re confident that ACRS 2012 is a valuable tool for anyone with an interest in airport commercial revenues.”
