MALAYSIA. AirAsia has extended its BIG Loyalty programme to offer members discounts and special deals through lifestyle vouchers with F&B and retail partners.
The airline described the revamped app as “another milestone” in its transformation from an airline loyalty programme to a comprehensive lifestyle platform. As reported, AirAsia celebrates the tenth year of operations for BIG Loyalty, which is operated by Biglife, in 2020.
BIG Loyalty members who download or login to the BIG app between 4 and 31 May will receive 125 free BIG Points, with 1.5 million BIG Points on offer throughout the campaign period.
“To date, there are over 13 billion BIG Points in our members’ accounts. This presents a huge opportunity for businesses to tap into our ecosystem and offer their products and services to our member base of over 26 million” – Biglife CEO Spencer Lee
Biglife CEO Spencer Lee said: “BIG Points have evolved from just loyalty points into a digital currency, this is part of our continuous efforts to create more value for BIG Points and to offer freedom as well as a better experience for our members to utilise their BIG Points.
He described BIG Points as “universal and borderless” as they are no longer limited to flight and travel-related purchases.
“To date, there are over 13 billion BIG Points in our members’ accounts. This presents a huge opportunity for businesses to tap into our ecosystem and offer their products and services to our member base of over 26 million. We will continue to push boundaries, expand our offerings and enhance our member experience to create more meaningful value to our members as well as our partners.”
The new BIG app is available now for members in Malaysia and will be extended to Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines. E-vouchers can be used at partners’ offline or online stores. The app also offers a points purchase option.
During the month of Ramadan, BIG members are encouraged to donate points through a ‘Give with Ikhlas’ digital donation initiative which supports the underprivileged and frontliners affected by COVID-19 through local businesses.
Biglife said other features, such as points transfer, points sharing among family members and blockchain-based points conversion, will be available soon.
