Aer Rianta International opens duty free store at Québec City airport

CANADA. Aer Rianta International (ARI) has opened its new duty free store at Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport.

The Loop Duty Free’s 400sq m retail space quadruples the size of the previous duty free store.

The store design features predominantly black and white colours with touches of dark and light woods to define the categories

ARI said it invested over C$1 million (US$777,000) in the new layout, which will feature an array of luxury products such as make-up, perfume, sunglasses, accessories, wines and spirits.

ARI subsidiary Aer Rianta International North America was awarded the duty free retail concession at the airport in July.

“Since 1988, ARI has had long and very successful association with Canada and Québec in particular,” said ARI CEO Jack MacGowan. “We are happy to begin this new partnership with the airport team. Over the last 20 years, we have built up an exceptional understanding of the tastes and needs of Québec passengers.”

The curved, free-flowing layout is designed to maximise customer dwell time

ARI General Manager Jackie McDonagh commented: “The design specifications of this store are the most up to date to enhance the customer experience. It is particularly exciting to be introducing international brands such as Chanel, Lancôme, Dior, Givenchy and a Sense of Place offer by introducing Bizou and fine Quebec food products.

“Passengers will have a vast range of whiskies to choose from in our Whisky Collection that are ideal for the collector and passengers who are gifting. We look forward to a long and successful partnership with the Quebec City Airport.”
