SPAIN. Spanish airport authority Aena will host an invitation-only event about its forthcoming duty free tender during a special session at the TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes on 4 October at 6pm.

The tender – one of the most eagerly anticipated in the airport world – covers duty free contracts at 26 airports across Aena’s Spanish network. The new concessions begin in November 2023.

Adolfo Suárez Madrid Barajas Airport (Terminal 4 pictured) will be one of the key locations covered by the tender

Consultancy group Alvarez & Marsal Spain has been appointed the supply partner to Aena for advisory services covering the tender. The 36-month advisory contract includes the preparation, drafting and tracking of the tender documents and the bidding process.  Since its appointment, the firm has been drawing up the tender strategy and planning the contractual relationship with potential partners.

The closed-doors Cannes meeting will be chaired by The Moodie Davitt Report Chairman Martin Moodie, who will facilitate an on-stage discussion with Aena Managing Director Commercial and Real Estate María-José Cuenda Chamorro. This will be followed by a presentation showcasing the opportunity.

The presentation will conclude with a cocktail hour and the opportunity for informal discussions.

Full details of the event will be sent to interested parties.
