UK. Manchester Airport officially marked the opening of its 1903 passenger lounge in Terminal 3 this week.
In operation since the first week of April, the adult-only lounge offers guests a range of hot and cold food, drinks, free Wi-Fi and other travel perks such as use of fast-track airport security. There is room for up to 71 people and the space offers comprehensive views of the airfield, with bookings costing from £35 per person.
An inauguration ceremony was held on Monday to announce the opening at the UK’s third busiest airport.
Named after the year of the Wright Brothers’ first flight, the lounge has its own chefs who have created a menu with a local twist. Guests can choose from a range that includes the 1833 vintage reserve cheddar from the world’s oldest makers, Barbers, and dairy ice cream from Cheshire Farm.
Manchester Pale Ale and Manchester Gin, including a Manchester Pink Raspberry infused gin, are among the drinks on offer.
Commenting on the new facility, Manchester Airports Group Executive Vice President of Business Development & Lounges Beth Brewster said: “The final product looks superb and offers passengers a real slice of luxury before their flight.”
