A dazzling showcase: CDFG steps up focus on jewellery in Hainan

Jewellery showcase: The world’s number one retailer has welcomed DeBeers Forevermark, Tasaki and Messika to its stores as it continues to enhance its luxury offer in Hainan.

CHINA. China Duty Free Group (CDFG) has expanded and diversified its jewellery offer in Hainan to include renowned global fine jewellery brands DeBeers Forevermark, Tasaki and Messika.

The watches and jewellery category has boomed in the travel retail hotspot of Hainan since the scrapping of the former single item value allowance of RMB8,000 (US$1,129) in the enhanced duty free policy introduced in July 2020.

DeBeers makes its mark in Hainan

Less than 1% of the world’s diamonds make the DeBeers cut, underscoring the quality, value and rarity of its fine jewellery creations

DeBeers Forevermark opened its first Hainan flagship on 27 November in a prime location on Floor L of the CDFG shopping complex at Haikou Mova Mall.

The boutique offers the house’s  wide array of diamond creations. This includes the popular Avanti Collection which symbolises infinite possibilities and the Icon Collection which was inspired by the starry skies of South Africa.

Rich, consumer-oriented video displays, targeted marketing, and personalised service all come together to offer a localised luxury DeBeers shopping experience in Hainan.

DeBeers Forevermark is a subsidiary of prestigious jewellery company DeBeers Group, which boasts a 130-year heritage in diamonds. Fewer than 1% of the world’s diamonds pass DeBeers’ quality standards. A DeBeers diamond is inscribed with a special mark, signifying its quality and rarity.

DeBeers supports the ethical mining of diamonds through its Building Forever Programme which ensures that every diamond it sources generates a return to the local community.
