INDIA. Two of the most influential figures in India’s aviation industry are among further additions to an already outstanding programme for next month’s Trinity Forum in Mumbai (12-14 September).
The legendary GVK Reddy, Founder, Chairman and Managing Director of GVK will present an opening address, followed by Airports Authority of India Chairman Dr Guruprasa Mohapatra.
The morning will include a much-anticipated open debate featuring GV Sanjay Reddy, Vice Chairman GVK and Managing Director Mumbai International Airport Ltd (who will earlier give his vision of ‘The power of possibility for airports’ in a stand-alone address); Julián Díaz, CEO of the world’s leading travel retailer, Dufry; Dayalan Nayager, Managing Director of the channel’s biggest supplier, Diageo Global Travel; and Paul Griffiths*, CEO of the world’s busiest international airport, Dubai International.
Candid questions on the role of airports and the commercial revenues model will be taken by all panellists in a pivotal session for this year’s event. All delegates will be pre-mailed with an invitation to join the debate.

In another addition to the programme veteran airport retail executive Paul Topping, now a Director of Flemingo, will join another straight-talking session, the closing panel discussion themed ‘Telling it straight – how does the future look for our industry? A hard-hitting, prophetic final session involving a broad array of Trinity perspectives.’
He will be joined by Dan Cappell, Acting Chief Commercial Officer, Abu Dhabi Airports; Kai Schmidhuber, Executive Vice President Multi-Channel, Fraport; and Michael Guenoun, Managing Director Travel Retail Asia, Cartier
As reported, Lagardère Travel Retail Executive Vice-President Marketing & Digital Stéphanie Metz-Thevenod will join a key panel discussing how travel retail should adapt to an omni-channel world, exploring both the opportunities and threats posted by e-commerce and social & digital media.
She will be on stage with Amit Butani, the Founder of thriving Indian web and mobile app price comparision service Duty Free Buzz, who will outline his views on how to better engage with the consumer to protect and grow the travel retail business. The panel also includes Stephan Uhrenbacher, CEO, FLIO – Air Media Service, creator of one of the airport world’s most successful apps and a pioneer of digital media in the travel and leisure sectors.
Other top-line additional speakers include Guy Stephenson – Chief Commercial Officer, London Gatwick Airport; Saurabh Kumar, Chief Executive Officer, Hyderabad Duty Free Retail Limited, GMR Group; and Chris Rayner, CEO, SSP Asia-Pacific. All three are participating in a dedicated ACI World session on 14 September entitled ‘Evaluating the critical correlation between passenger satisfaction and financial performance’.
The Trinity Forum, the world’s leading airport commercial revenues conference, will be held at the Trident Nariman Point Hotel in Mumbai on 12-14 September. It is a tri-partite alliance between The Moodie Davitt Report, Airports Council International (ACI) and ACI Asia-Pacific. The event is hosted this year by GVK and Mumbai International Airport Limited.
