The Moodie Report e-Zine Special Issue: The Moodies Awards

INTERNATIONAL. Welcome to a special issue of The Moodie Report e-Zine, where we celebrate the winners of the inaugural The Moodies Awards for Airport Digital, Social and Mobile Media.

Inside you’ll find a masterclass in communications and customer service excellence, with in depth profiles on the companies and projects that impressed The Moodies judges.

The industry’s first awards recognising social, digital and mobile media initiatives received nearly 170 entries, in categories including Best Facebook Page, Best Mobile App, Best Website and Best Use of Digital Media on the Concourse.

Entries from across the world highlighted how airports, retailers, food & beverage operators and suppliers have embraced new media to strengthen their businesses.

A shortlist of 98 individual entries were generated from nearly 170 submissions made via a mix of self-nomination and a call for submissions from the industry. The list of winners offers a fascinating tapestry of social and digital media excellence.

The Moodie Report Director Digital Media & Innovation and Head of the Judging Panel Matt Willey commented: “These awards were designed to champion and reward thought leadership, innovation and consumer interaction in the social media environment. The exceptional list of winners proves that the airport community has truly embraced social and digital media, making huge strides forward in the way businesses interact and engage with travellers.

“The winners of the inaugural airport-specific digital, mobile and social media awards, we feel represents the most accurate picture of the social and digital media landcape in the airport community to date.”

The Best Mobile App – awards for airports, operators and suppliers were sponsored by Travel Retail Distribution Group.

Also in this issue we report on three important social media presentations from The Trinity Forum, held last week in Abu Dhabi. Combined, the ideas discussed by Brown-Forman Managing Director Global Travel Retail Jim Perry, OTG Management CEO Rick Blatstein and Simplifliyng CEO Shashank Nigam map out an interesting future for travel retail and social media.

We hope you enjoy The Moodie Report e-Zine Special Issue: The Moodies Awards.
