Tallink opens first Burger King restaurant in cruise & ferry channel

ESTONIA. Tallink Group this week opens the first floating Burger King restaurant in the world onboard the Star shuttle ferry between Tallinn and Helsinki. It will be managed by Restel Oy.

AS Tallink Grupp Management Board Member Lembit Kitter said: “Both Tallink Shuttle and Burger King offer the customers fast, but reliable and high quality service in their own business niche. The passengers on our fast ferries only have two hours on board, so the fast takeaway following a worldwide known concept should be among the popular choices.”

Restel Oy CEO Mikael Backman said: “These two strong brands complement each other’s product selection very well. We believe that there’s great demand for our flame grilled and tailor-made burgers on the fast route between Helsinki and Tallinn.”

The restaurant is on deck nine, replacing the Quick&Easy restaurant, which served pizza and hamburgers. The restaurant has close to 300 seats, and staff will be trained according to the chain’s international standards, said Tallink Group.
