New look, familiar name: McDonald’s opens at Sydney T1 airside

AUSTRALIA. Sydney Airport has unveiled a newly designed McDonald’s at the International Terminal (T1), as its food & beverage offer takes shape.

Positioned in one of the busiest parts of the terminal, the store features colourful design featuring soft wood tones, industrial style framing, green garden walls and chalkboard menus. The bright yellow tone is claimed to add “a playful touch”, while a paper plane design reflects the airport setting.

The unit features booth seating and areas such as a children’s play zone

New booth and communal seating provides passengers with space to relax before they board. There is also a bespoke kids’ play zone where a shadow wall projector provides an opportunity to interact with McDonald’s characters; this element is a first for McDonald’s in Australia.

The full McDonald’s menu is available, as well as an updated selection of healthy meals and a McCafe. There are nine digital ordering displays.

“We’re thrilled to unveil a new-look McDonald’s at the T1 International Terminal as part of the improvements programme to deliver a bigger, brighter terminal and enhanced value and choice for passengers,” said Sydney Airport General Manager Retail Glyn Williams.
