Sydney Airport calls Request for Proposal for ‘world’s finest’ luxury fashion names – 10/07/08

AUSTRALIA. Sydney Airport today released a Request For Proposal (RFP) to the Australian and international market in the luxury fashion category.

Sydney Airport Corporation Limited said: “This is a unique opportunity for world famous designers to join prominent, global fashion houses who have already indicated their intent to open flagship boutiques in Sydney International Airport’s Terminal (T1), which is currently undergoing redevelopment.

“As Australia’s major gateway, T1 handled more than 10 million passengers in 2007 and designer brands are lining up to secure a retail site in the airport’s much-anticipated expanded, world-class shopping precinct.”

The luxury fashion boutiques will be located in a new development within Terminal 1 called The Forum

The luxury fashion boutiques will be located in a new development within T1 called The Forum. Along with a precinct of “luxury experiences” that will include jewellery, fine dining and fashion, The Forum will host a diverse selection of exciting specialty retail, the airport company said.

Retailers will also have an opportunity to promote their range via Sydney Airport’s new shopping website – www.sydneyairportshopping.com.au, (recently assessed in The Moodie Report’s popular Website of the Week review).

Other RFPs recently released to market by Sydney Airport include two jewellery concepts – Opal Jewellery and Casual Artisan Jewellery – with RFPs in a comprehensive range of categories soon to follow.

The closing date for submissions for the Luxury Fashion Category RFP is 3:00pm AEST 22 August 2008.
