SINGAPORE. Starbucks and The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf have each captured a brand name western speciality coffee concession at Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 2. Both units are located in the T2 Check-In Hall.
Starbucks won Concession A, after it offered 19% of gross monthly sales or a Minimum Monthly Guarantee of S$18,000, whichever is higher.
Concession A begins on 15 June and runs for three years.
The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf offered 23% of gross sales up to S$50,000 a month; plus 24% of incremental sales up to S$75,000; 26% of sales up to S$100,000 and 28% of sales above S$100,000, or a Minimum Monthly Guarantee of S$9,500, whichever is higher.
Concession B starts on 24 July and runs for three years.
Other bidders for the concessions included Delifrance, SSP, Spinelli and Trung Nguyen Café Chain.
In other T2 food & beverage news, the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore has tendered two key restaurant concessions.
The first concerns a brand name Asian restaurant concession, located on Level 3 of Departure/Transit Lounge Central. Bids are due by 29 April, with the three-year concession beginning on 1 August.
The second tender is for a brand name Indian vegetarian concession, also in T2’s Departure/Transit Lounge Central. Bids also close on 29 April with a contract start date of 1 August.
