UAE. Dubai Duty Free Executive Vice President – Corporate Services Salah Tahlak has been re-elected as a Member of the ATP International Group Council, the body that runs men’s professional tennis worldwide. Tahlak is also Tournament Director of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships.
A member of the ATP Global Tournament Council since 2010, he is the first and only Arab to be a member of both the ATP and the WTA Tournament Councils.
Tahlak said: “I am thankful for this opportunity to continue and serve as a Council Member of the ATP International Group until 2019. This is a great honour, and I look forward to working closely with my fellow council members in the years to come.”
Dubai Duty Free Executive Vice Chairman and CEO Colm McLoughlin said: “We congratulate Salah on his recent re-election as a Council Member, and we will continue to support him and all the future activities of the ATP International Group.”
Tahlak has been actively involved in the business of tennis since 1993, when Dubai Duty Free secured the first ATP tournament to be held in the UAE. The ATP event will be celebrating its 25th anniversary during the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships next year. The event is scheduled to take place from 19 February to 4 March 2017 at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium.
