Pittsburgh International adds hometown cuisine to its dining options

USA. Airmall has added a new local concept to the range of dining outlets at Pittsburgh International Airport.

The 840sq ft The Strip Market is inspired by Pittsburgh’s popular Strip District, a narrow piece of land where Pittsburghers shop for locally sourced and specialty foods.

The Strip Market aims to offer a true taste of local cuisine

Allegheny County Airport Authority Vice President Media Relations Bob Kerlik said: “Whether a traveller is new to Pittsburgh, or proud of their hometown cuisine, The Strip Market offers a true taste of the region.

“Bringing more of Pittsburgh into the airport is important and travellers will have a great opportunity to experience that with this market.”

The Strip Market features a photo mural depicting the Strip District’s history. The menu offers products from local vendors including Anthony’s Original Produce, The Bagel Factory, Janoski Farms and Soergel Orchards.

The central ingredient in Isaly’s ‘chipped chopped ham’ sandwich comes from Pennsylvania Macaroni. Nicholas Coffee, Enrico Biscotti, Mac’s Donuts, Sarris Candy, and Snyder of Berlin are also featured.
