Outlet shopping centre to open at Edmonton International in 2017

CANADA. A 428,000sq ft enclosed outlet shopping centre is to open at Edmonton International Airport in 2017.

Canadian real estate company Ivanhoé Cambridge, the original developer behind the project, has partnered with US retail real estate company Simon Property Group to build the venue.

The shopping centre will be called “˜Premium Outlet Collection – Edmonton International Airport’ and feature about 100 stores, with many said to be new to Alberta.

Edmonton International Airport said the project was a “key component” of its overall airport masterplan. The airport handled 8.2 million passengers in 2014, with traffic having doubled over the previous ten years.

Ivanhoé Cambridge will develop and manage the outlet centre and will jointly lease the property with Simon Property Group.
