Like a Rolling Stone: the new campaign for Roberto Cavalli Signature

Coty has unveiled a new campaign for the Roberto Cavalli Signature fragrance, featuring the Creative Director’s updated take on the modern Cavalli woman.

The campaign, inspired by the Rolling Stones’ infamous stay at the Nellcôte Villa in 1971, introduces model Esther Heech as the new face of Roberto Cavalli Signature.

Peter Dundas, who was appointed as Creative Director of the Italian fashion house last year, is credited with moving the fashion label – long associated with animal print and opulent glamour – into a new phase. While staying true to the brand’s luxurious Italian heritage, Dundas is said to add a “bohemian rock star” edge.

The Roberto Cavalli Signature fragrance, described as “exuberant and sunny”, was created by Master Perfumer Louise Turner of Givaudan. Taking pink peppers as its top note, it has a heart of orange blossom and a base of tonka bean.

The bottle’s curves are said to mimic those of the female body. Roberto Cavalli’s golden seal forms the top and the neck is decorated with a tiger necklace in homage to the brand’s signature animal prints.

The design of the bottle is described as illustrating the contrast between the elegant and refined side of the Cavalli woman and the wild, free and wilful side.
