New Griffin’s cigar line delves into new taste territory

Davidoff-owned The Griffin’s has launched a Nicaragua Special Edition 2016 aimed at consumers who prefer a fuller-bodied taste profile.

The Griffin’s Nicaragua Special Edition 2016 is said to deliver a ‘pronounced’ spiciness which arises from the Nicaraguan and Honduran tobaccos. The taste profile includes bitter chocolate, sweet corn and oak wood flavours.

The tobacco blend combines a shiny, veinless Dominican wrapper, a San Vicente binder from the Dominican Republic and filler tobaccos from Honduras, Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic.

The cigars feature a black main ring with ‘The Griffin’s’ hot foiled in red to match the oily wrapper.

The Griffin’s says the cigar is ‘ideal’ for collecting and ageing because of its oily tobaccos

To complement the Nicaragua Special Edition 2016, The Griffin’s has created 3500 humidified jars which house 25 cigars. The duo is scheduled to launch in October/November before rolling out to Davidoff flagship stores, selected tobacco retailers and global travel retail later in the year.

Oettinger Davidoff Senior Vice President Global Marketing & Innovation Charles Awad said: “Griffin’s Nicaragua Special Edition’s blend of Nicaraguan, Dominican and Honduran tobaccos will take aficionados on a journey to the spicier side of life and pushes their taste and complexity boundaries to new limits.”
