“Multi-channel is a must,” says Taiwan’s Ever Rich Duty Free as it launches pre-order website

TAIWAN. Every Rich Duty Free Shop has launched a pre-order website which enables travellers to collect purchases before they depart from Taoyuan International Airport.

The website, created in response to limited duty free shopping time available at airports, was unveiled at a press conference on 31 August. It features a cloud function and a ‘Shop Perfect’ smart shopping concept.

Shop Perfect is a smart shopping mode designed for passengers to shop with their families and friends. Passengers with a confirmed flight schedule can log on to the website then share a unique link with their friends and families to connect to. Once a nickname is entered, customers can begin duty free shopping. The passenger can then review the shopping list and pay and collect from the airport.

Orders can be made from seven days to four hours before a customer’s flight departs and the pick-up service is open 24 hours a day.

By the end of 2016, Ever Rich said it aims to offer 300 brands and more than 10,000 products on the pre-order website.

Ever Rich hopes to offer 10,000 brands on its e-commerce site by the end of 2016. The retailer believes that in the future over 50% of purchases will involve interactions with a retailer via multi-channels.

Ever Rich stated: “Multi-channel is a must in recent years. Multi-channel is all about reaching customers and providing what they want at the right time no matter where they are, and through the channels they prefer, such as mobile devices, computers, or e-marketplaces.

“We believe that more than 50% of purchases made by customers will involve interactions with a company in two channels or more in the coming years. Therefore, e-commerce is the superstar that every brand and corporation should focus on now.”

Asian actor Sunny Wang, who tried out the e-commerce website, said: “There are three very attractive areas of Ever Rich Duty Free’s pre-order website. The 24-hour service enables customers to shop anytime, anywhere and the ‘shop perfect’ concept is similar to a wedding wish list idea and makes gift shopping worry-free. Most importantly, shopping online is paparazzi-free!”
