Moscow Domodedovo Airport showcases ancient kingdom tourist route in photo exhibition

RUSSIA. Moscow Domodedovo Airport has partnered with National Geographic Traveler to launch a photographic exhibition highlighting a new tourist route through an ancient kingdom.

The Golden Ring of the Bosporan Kingdom exhibition showcases antiquities and excavations found in the route passing through the territories where the Bosporan Kingdom emerged in 480 BC.

The exhibition was officially opened on 13 June, and is free for travellers to explore.

The route comprises twelve cities and more than thirty locations in Krasnodar Krai, the Republic of Crimea, and the Rostov region. It encompasses museums, excavations of ancient cities, show parks, and traveller attractions related to the history of the ancient nation. These include Chersonesus (Sevastopol), Panticapaeum (Kerch) as well as ancient cities on the Taman Peninsula such as Gorgippia and Phanagoria.

A grand opening ceremony for the exhibition took place at the airport on 13 June. National Geographic Traveler Chief Editor Ivan Vasin, project curator Hristofor Konstantinidi, and project ambassadors including TV host Irina Pudova and boxing world champion Konstantin Tszyu participated in the event.

The exhibition is free to view and will run until 18 July. It is located on the first floor of the airport’s public area.

Domodedovo passengers can fly to a range of Bosporan Kingdom cities, including Gorgippia (Anapa), Torikos (Gelendzhik), Ampsalida (Sochi), Scythian Neapolis (Simferopol) and Tanais (Rostov-on-Don).
