Miami International Airport tenders foreign exchange concession

USA. Miami-Dade Aviation Department has issued a Request for Proposals for a foreign exchange services concession covering seven outlets at Miami International Airport.

Three units are located in the Central Terminal pre-security with one post-security. A further three locations are in the South Terminal, two pre-security and one post-security.

Services should include foreign exchange; travellers’ cheques, money wires; travel insurance; cash advances on credit cards; prepaid phone cards, phone rentals and SIM cards; plus other services.

The winning company will pay the greater of a Minimum Annual Guarantee of US$600,000 or a percentage of revenue (percentages vary depending on the category) to run the concession.

The successful proposer will invest a minimum US$150 per square foot of improvements in the facilities, including design, development and construction.

The contract runs for an initial five years, with the option of a one-year extension.

Proposals are due by 7 September.
