Making adults shop is child’s play says Play9

AUSTRALIA. Play9, the Australian firm that specialises in providing kids’ entertainment in a range of locations from airports to shopping malls, has rolled out its latest innovation at the Silverburn shopping centre near Glasgow. The company hopes to bring the service to selected airports in the near future.

As reported, the first Play9 Kids Zone featuring a digital play centre was installed at Brisbane Airport’s International Terminal last year.

Since then the company has been speaking with several other leading airports and will be announcing two major hub locations in coming weeks.

Play9 believes its proposition offers two key benefits for airports – keeping children happy, and also allowing parents to shop while their offspring play.

Its latest double-sided Kids Zone installation (see video) at the Hammerson-owned Silverburn shopping centre features several innovations. They include:

–  Light and sound interactive tunnel

–  Full data analytics – # games played; peak times; average age; average gender; dwell time etc.

–  Furniture and accessories

Strong dwell time and visitation improvements have already been generated, the company said.
