London Supply raises over US$800,000 for charity at golf event

LATIN AMERICA. The London Supply Group Foundation has raised US$809,276 from the latest edition of the London Supply Trophy Golf Tournament, held recently at Club del Lago Golf in Punta del Este, Uruguay. The Foundation has organised the charity event for the past 13 years.

Proceeds will aid infrastructure work at the Elderly House San Ramon and will also benefit the Rehab Center at Marta Schwartz Hospital in Puerto Iguazu. At the latter, treatment, rehabilitation, housing and emotional support will be given to children and adolescents with various conditions, along with their families.

The Comprehensive Rehabilitation Center will be a first for in the region at Puerto Iguazu. This, said London Supply, will enable the exercise of disabled people’s rights, which were recently introduced to the Argentine National Magna Carta.

The Foundation thanked the “spirit and solidarity shown by all players, as well as the support by the sponsors”. It added: “This new donation will allow us to continue providing equal opportunities, which is the main goal of the Foundation, and keep going one step further with solidarity endeavours.”

Previous charities to benefit include the Madre Teresa de Calcuta Nursery and Kindergarten in the Neighborhood 1º de Mayo, one of the poorest complexes in the city of Puerto Iguazu, Misiones.

This institution, which includes Primary School Nº 875 “Doña Mercedes García de Taratuty” and BOP Nº 106 “Don José Taratuty”, currently provides education for over 1,200 children. It was built and donated to the province of Misiones by the London Supply Group Foundation and welcomes babies from 45 days old to three years old, who later attend primary school and complete their high-school education.
