Lindt & Sprüngli shows its dark and fruity side – 03/11/08

Elegant packaging: The new dark chocolate Lindt Silver TabletsSWITZERLAND. Swiss premium confectionery company Lindt & Sprüngli introduced its product portfolio for 2009 at the TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes last week.

The company offered a selection of tablets which are said to deliver a rich taste sensation: the dark chocolate Silver Tablet Range.

Explaining the rationale behind the launch, Lindt said: “More and more chocolate consumers are tending to buy dark chocolate. The dark chocolate segment in the duty free market has been growing steadily over the past few years and is continuing to develop strongly.”

After the successful launch of the Dark Orange Almond Tablet in 2006, the firm has now enriched the Silver Tablet Range with two innovations: the fruity flavours of sour cherry and lemon.

Dark Cherry Almond Tablet 300g is described as a balance between the flavours of dark Lindt Surfin Chocolate, the fragrant notes of roasted almond pieces and the fruitiness of aromatic sour cherries.

Dark Lemon Almond Tablet 300g is said to combine aromas of roasted almonds with the tart note of freshly picked lemons.

The elegantly packaged tablets are designed for gifting or as a treat for oneself and will be available from February 2009.
