Latest Mondelez novelties encourage ‘More shoppers, More Spend, More Often’

Mondelez World Travel Retail (WTR) has unveiled details of its new product innovations for 2016/17 across its portfolio of brands. The novelties will be showcased at TFWA World Exhibition (RG5, Riviera Village).

In line with Mondelez WTR’s Delighting Travelers Category Vision, the innovations have been developed with a view to contributing to category and industry growth by tackling a number of key industry challenges:

  • Footfall (More Shoppers): leverage its portfolio of recognisable brands to signpost the category, trigger demand and drive shoppers in-store to explore new and exciting products
  • Basket Size (More Spend): drive conversion rates and additional impulse purchases through differentiated travel retail exclusives and gifting offerings ideally suited to the needs of travellers
  • Shopper Loyalty & Repeat Visits (More Often): deliver emotionally compelling offers and experiences to draw customers back into duty free every time they shop.

Mondelez WTR will showcase two new product innovations aimed at delivering on the ‘More Shoppers’ pillar of its category vision.

Cadbury Dairy Milk Oreo tablet 300g, featuring cream-filled Oreo cookie pieces covered in Dairy Milk chocolate, is a cross-category combination of chocolate and biscuit.

Milka Peanut 276g is said to deliver a new taste experience in a travel retail exclusive design. It combines Alpine Milk Chocolate with crunchy peanuts in a caramel cream and a layer of rice crisps and peanut pieces.

Bolstering the ‘More Spend’ pillar in 2016/17 will be two new gifting innovations in tins as well as a number of snacking options.

Cadbury Heroes Quad Bag 188g, exclusive to travel retail, contains Heroes favourites in miniature format, now including Cadbury Flake.

Mini Chips Ahoy! Canister 120g, featuring closable canister packaging, includes bite-sized Chips Ahoy! cookies.

Cadbury Dairy Milk Heritage Tin 165g contains individually wrapped chunks of Cadbury Dairy Milk chocolate. The tin sports a Cadbury’s original 1920s purple design.

Milka Alpine Tin 184g is filled with Milka Alpine milk naps and is exclusive to travel retail.

Toblerone Messages is a 360g bar format available with a variety of customised packaging carrying emotional messages. The personalisation experience will be supported by a major in-store promotional programme throughout the launch year, with the aim of driving increased footfall and more repeat business through a memorable gifting experience, said Mondelez WTR.

Toblerone Milk Xmas Sleeve builds on the key global gifting season and offers the Milk 360g bar pre-sleeved in Christmas-themed packaging.

Cadbury Heroes Pouch 380g is a large-size resealable pouch which contains all the Heroes favourites.

Lastly, Bassett’s 400g Bags will be launched across the three current variants: Winegums, Sour Winegums, and Liquorice Allsorts.
