SWITZERLAND. Kraft Foods World Travel Retail, the Swiss supplier of leading chocolate brands Toblerone, Milka and CÃ´te d’Or, is to launch new lines for the Americas market at the IAADFS Duty Free Show of the Americas in Fort Lauderdale next week (Booth number: 427).
Quick to acknowledge the economic backdrop to this year’s IAADFS show, the company said: “Recognising that the universal economic downturn will inevitably have an impact on travel retail, we are focusing on core brands such as Toblerone, Milka and CÃ´te d’Or, which have proven consumer awareness and support.
“Last year, Toblerone was in the spotlight for a year-long birthday party [centenary] and achieved record sales. This year, it is joined centre stage by Milka, the brand of Alpine goodness and a favourite for all the family.”
New recipes: Among the Milka novelties are Assorted Naps Mix 380g and two new tablets: Milka Toffee Whole Nuts and Milka Choco-Crispy
MILKA LINE EXTENSIONS
The Milka assortment is extended with two new-recipe tablets – Milka Toffee Whole Nuts and Milka Choco-Crispy – which aim to address consumer trends, the company said.
For the “all-important” sharing and snacking category, the supplier has added Milka Assorted Naps Mix 380g bag with Alpine Milk, Crunchy Caramel, and Strawberry flavours.
For youngsters, there is a reusable lunch bag filled with Alpine Milk Naps.
Toblerone, travel retail’s best-selling chocolate brand, is said to be “reinvigorated” by the launch of its first premium product, the sophisticated and feminine Toblerone Ribbon Box 210g, and the Edelweiss Gift Box 210g, which are both designed to highlight the brand’s Swissness. And for children, the Toblerone Drinking Cup and the Toblerone Kids Bag both feature the company’s brand ambassador Bernie, Toblerone’s St Bernard dog.

Aimed at dark chocolate connoisseurs, Belgian chocolate brand CÃ´te d’Or sees the addition of Fèves de Cacao 180g. The chocolates are shaped like cocoa beans, with praline or truffle fillings, and are said to offer an intense cocoa eating experience.
