New innovations from the Milka brand of Alpine chocolate


SWITZERLAND. Kraft Foods World Travel Retail’s Milka brand will move into the spotlight at TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes (Stand number: Riviera Village RG5).

Two innovative Milka bars will be launched with “excellent potential for stimulating incremental sales”, the company said. Milka Toffee Whole Nuts will encourage trial among existing Milka lovers and also attract fresh admirers. The second tablet Milka Choco-Crispy combines crispy rice with the taste of Alpine milk chocolate, it added.

KFWTR reported that sharing bags with a choice of bite-size pieces were an important trend in travel retail.

The new Milka Mix bag is an easy-to-carry bag of individually wrapped Milka naps in different flavours designed for sharing. For the gift market there is a heart-shaped praline box of ‘I love Milka’.

The children”˜s category is one of confectionery”˜s best growth opportunities, KFWTR believes. To drive the category, Milka will launch the Milka Lunch Bag, a re­usable bag containing a Milka plush cow plus two Milka Alpine Milk naps bags.

Toblerone is set to enter the premium segment with the exclusive Toblerone Ribbon Box, described as a sophisticated, feminine gift item ­filled with twist-wrapped Toblerone milk chocolate chunks.

The new Toblerone Edelweiss Box informal gift has been developed to add extra ‘Swissness’ to the Toblerone portfolio. The product is designed to enhance Toblerone”˜s reputation as the symbol for Swiss chocolate.

For Tiny Toblerone, the company has created the Toblerone Tiny Milk Bag for gifting and sharing. Toblerone expands the children’s portfolio with two products, leveraging on the popularity of the brand ambassador, the Swiss Saint Bernard dog Bernie.

Other novelties include the value-added Toblerone Drinking Cup with Bernie figurine and the Toblerone Kids Bag with a Bernie plush toy.
