Kerstin Steinmetz to take over Nici travel retail business; Jürg Mumenthaler to step down – 21/10/08

Kerstin Steinmetz

GERMANY. German toy company Nici has appointed Kerstin Steinmetz to take over the responsibility for its worldwide duty free and travel retail business, effective 1 February 2009.

She will replace the highly respected and popular Jürg Mumenthaler, who has successfully built up the Nici business during the past eight years to become one of the leaders in the toy category, the company said. [Publisher’s note: The Moodie Report echoes that view. Besides being a great champion of the channel and his various companies down the years, Jürg Mumenthaler is one of the nicest individuals in the business.]

Since September 2004 Steinmetz has been handling the duty free and travel retail business directly from Nici in Altenkunstadt and in cooperation with Mumenthaler. She has been with the company for more than ten years.

Both Steinmetz and Mumenthaler will be present at the Nici booth at the TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes later this month (Stand number: Red Village M35).
