Classic and modern: Gucci’s new boutique is a key addition to Hong Kong International’s burgeoning luxury offer |
HONG KONG. Gucci has opened Hong Kong International Airport’s largest stand-alone boutique – and the brand’s largest airport store in the world.
The expanded and relocated 2,915sq ft store opened on 4 April in Terminal 1’s West Hall. This area is accessible to about 45% of all passengers and departing flights, and receives almost half of all HKIA’s airside foot traffic.
The store features a distinctive combination of colours and offers a light, warm and intimate environment that fuses classic Gucci elements with a modern spirit, said Airport Authority Hong Kong.
The assortment spans a wide range of high-end leathergoods and accessories, including handbags and luggage, small leathergoods, shoes, belts, watches, jewellery and sunglasses.
Gucci now has two stores at HKIA; the second is located in the East Hall Luxury Brand Boutique Boulevard, a retail zone dedicated to the world’s top luxury brands.
HKIA’s average sales for luxury brands climbed by +24% last year, outstripping the overall average retail sales increase of +13.5%.
