Goodbye to ‘Zebra stripes’: Panos Emporio unveils new men’s swimwear concept

Swedish designer Panos Emporio will unveil its new men’s swimwear concept ‘Meander’ at TFWA World Exhibition (Bay Village, B3).

Panos Emporio Founder Panos Papadopoulos created Meander in response to the problems that traditional swim shorts cause, such as unconventional tan lines and the lack of flexibility for water sports.

Following several studies conducted by Papadopoulos, he concluded that there was a demand from men worldwide for swim shorts that provide a comfortable fit, full mobility and the chance to get an even tan.

According to the brand, without changing pants, men can open up the sides of Meander with a zipper. The fabric rolls up, fastens with push bottoms at the front and back and becomes a shorter brief. When the zippers are open, the shorts also provide added mobility for water sports, the company noted.

The Meander line is made from a quick-drying material and features an anatomically designed inner pant to provide a secure and comfortable fit.

The Meander range, which comes in luxury packaging customised for airports, includes a bag for keeping valuables or wet swimwear in.

Panos Papadopoulos said: “Meander is a revolution that allows freedom for the man to self-regulate the beach and swimwear shorts’ fit so that it suits both trained thighs and also those who want to avoid the zebra stripes. With Meander, men no longer need to choose, they get the best of both worlds: a sleek design and a convenient feature that allows them full mobility, comfort and tan.”

Panos Emporio said that Meander is being tested in select luxury stores during 2016 to ensure that the product is ready for the global travel retail market in 2017.
