Frederique Constant unveils a new Horological Smartwatch

Frederique Constant will present a new Horological Smartwatch at this year’s TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes (Riviera Village RG 13).

The new model includes a Worldtimer auto adjustment function and is in line with the brand’s plans to introduce “new and unexpected” features to its Horological Smartwatch range, which was unveiled at last year’s TFWA exhibition.

The new model features a 42mm rose gold plated steel case and navy blue dial with convex sapphire crystal. The watch, which is claimed to be waterproof up to 50m, is finished with a blue alligator bracelet and has a two and a half year battery life.

According to Frederique Constant, more than 16,000 Horological Smartwatches have been shipped since its launch.

Frederique Constant Travel Director Marin Grandjean said: “The travel retail market is moving very fast and we continuously need to adapt our offer to these market evolutions.

“Customers are keener for connectivity in their watch but are still very concerned about the price.”

Grandjean also stressed the increasing importance of “retailtainment” in travel retail. “I believe we can offer this in shops through an innovative selling experience to the customer with our Horological Smartwatches. Features such as WorldTimer auto adjustment and Sleep and Activity monitoring are huge assets for travellers.”

At Cannes the company will also highlight the Alpina Seastrong Diver Heritage, an upgraded version of the Alpina ‘Seastrong 10’ Super Compressor diving watch, and the Classic Delight Automatic Collection.

Gwyneth Paltrow is Frederique Constant’s Charity Brand Ambassador

Earlier this year Frederique Constant named American actress Gwyneth Paltrow as its Charity Brand Ambassador. Paltrow featured in a campaign for an extension to the company’s Classic Delight Automatic Collection, said to underline the Frederique Constant philosophy of “accessible luxury”.

Since 2004, the Frederique Constant Foundation has offered support to various charities helping women and children. From each Classic Delight watch sold US$50 goes to support DonorsChoose.
