UAE. Etihad Airways is exploring the outsourcing of its inflight retail programme, the company has confirmed to The Moodie Davitt Report.
“We are looking at ascertaining the commercial opportunities available to Etihad Airways and Etihad Airways Partners (EAP) from outsourcing the retail programme in a global concessionaire business arrangement,” a spokesman said.
The airline will communicate via a Request for Proposals with potential partners by the end of June, he added. It is seeking responses by July/August.
“The information received will help us to determine the commercial opportunities and customer benefits of outsourcing to a global concessionaire as we constantly strive to improve our award-winning guest experience, of which duty free forms a key part of the onboard offering.”
