Double-digit growth in Indian traffic buoys Abu Dhabi International

The Indian market remains one of the key growth drivers at Abu Dhabi International Airport

UAE. Passenger traffic at Abu Dhabi International Airport climbed by +6% year-on-year in the first nine months, hitting 18.5 million, Abu Dhabi Airports has reported.

In September passenger numbers climbed by +5% to 2.1 million.

During the month India remained the top origin and destination market, with volumes growing +10% to 355,328 passengers.

There were other notable performances among the key destinations in the Middle East. Traffic to and from Qatar climbed by +18.4% to 70,627; Saudi Arabian traffic rose by +19% to become the third busiest market, while Egyptian traffic posted a +37.9% surge to 57,885.
