SINGAPORE. DFASS Singapore has signed an agreement with Tiger Airways to manage the Singapore-based low cost carrier’s inflight duty free programme, effective from last month.
DFASS Singapore is the local operation of Miami-based inflight concessionaire DFASS.
DFASS Singapore (Pte) Ltd President John Garner told The Moodie Report that the agreement further defined the company’s commitment to growth in Asia.
DFASS was profiled in a recent issue of The Moodie Report Digital Print Edition
He said that Tiger Airways, which began flights in September 2004, has nine aircraft with over 16,000 flights annually.
He continued: “With aggressive expansion plans in the pipeline. Tiger Airways recently ordered 50 new Airbus A320 aircraft, making it one of the region’s largest, and fastest-growing low fare airlines. They have key destinations throughout Australia, China, India, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.”
Since taking over the programme, DFASS said it has put together a number of exciting changes, including the design and production of a separate inflight brochure. It is offering an expanded range of product listings, ranging from the traditional categories of fragrances, cosmetics and liquor to children’s products such as Thomas & Friends Travel and Stationery Set and a sun care UV Indicator Watch for the family.
DFASS will also be supplying Handheld systems to Tiger Airways’ crew members to facilitate sales onboard.
DFASS Group Chairman and CEO Benny Klepach commented: “We are delighted to enter this new arrangement with Tiger Airways. Our companies share the same philosophies of dynamic and aggressive growth while being managed under stringent cost control.
“Our Singapore operations now service all of the Singapore-based airlines, bringing economies of scale and better service to all.
“We are pleased with the confidence Tiger Airways have shown in DFASS, particularly as Singapore sets the benchmark in terms of customer service.”
