Denver Airport names Patrick Heck as Chief Commercial Officer

USA. Denver International Airport has named Patrick Heck as Chief Commercial Officer –Executive Vice President for Global Development, effective from 19 September. Heck will oversee commercial properties, concessions, parking and ground transportation, air service development, airline affairs and strategic partnerships and economic development.

Heck began his career at the airport in 2006 as Strategic Advisor, overseeing performance measurement and strategic planning operations. From 2007 to 2009 he served as Deputy Manager for Revenue and Business Development, where he was responsible for all commercial activities at the airport including food & beverage, retail, parking and ground transportation. From 2009 to 2014 Heck served as Chief Financial Officer, overseeing the airport’s financial functions, including the capital improvement budget, debt portfolio and operating budget.

Heck is returning to Denver after recently serving as Vice President for Commercial at the Manchester Airport Group USA, and prior to that as Chief Financial Officer at Continuum Partners in Denver.

Heck’s career in aviation began with United Airlines in 2000, when he served as the airline’s Senior Business Analyst for the United Flight Training Center. In 2003 he assumed the role of manager for United’s flight training scheduling, and in 2005 he was named General Manager for United’s flight training services.

Denver Airport CEO Kim Day said: “Patrick has a long history at Denver that includes experience managing billions of dollars in airport debt and assets, as well as a deep knowledge of the airport’s financial and business operations. Patrick will oversee our global development through ambitious revenue-generation and elite air service development programmes as we grow our presence and increase connections around the world while keeping the costs to our airlines competitive.”
