Cross reaches out to Star Wars fans with new collection

Cross has unveiled a new series of writing instruments and journals based on the Star Wars film trilogy.

The series, inspired by iconic Star Wars characters including C-3PO, Darth Vader and Stormtroopers, will be presented along with other writing instruments by Cross during the TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes next month (Stand: Red Village L20).

The first Star Wars film was released in 1977; the limited edition runs to 1,977 units per style

The Star Wars Limited Edition from the Townsend line marks the release date of the first Star Wars film and is limited to 1,977 units per character. Character details are etched on the pens to enhance collectability; prices range from US$450 to US$575.

The Click Star Wars Gel Ink Pen Collection (US$45) is described as ideal for everyday writing needs and the Star Wars journal collection from the Jot Zone is priced at US$40.

A.T. Cross Global Chief Marketing Officer Magnus Jonsson said: “This limited series of writing instruments and accessories reflects the Cross values unmistakably shared by the creators of this iconic saga, which include the continued pursuit of greatness and the timeless value of thoughtful inspiration and innovation.”

Products were pre-launched during “˜Force Friday’ (4 September) when Star Wars licensed merchandise went on sale and Cross noted strong orders from Star Wars fans. Duty Free Americas and Disney Cruises were among several companies which have already confirmed listings, the company said.

Earlier this week Cross revealed details of a brand relaunch, featuring a new look and updated products.
