SINGAPORE/ASIA. Concourse is stepping up its charity efforts for Christmas. The company’s Asia team has chosen to assist local Singapore charity Willing Hearts this year by raising funds and donating toiletries.
The charity operates a soup kitchen that prepares, cooks and distributes about 6,000 daily meals to over 40 locations island-wide, 365 days a year. It is run by volunteers, apart from a handful of staff.
Willing Hearts beneficiaries include the elderly, disabled, low income families, children from single parent families or otherwise poverty-stricken families, and migrant workers in Singapore.
Concourse said its aim was to fund and share in a Christmas dinner with some of those people Willing Hearts help. The company will provide food, serve and dine with them.
The toiletry donations – everyday products that we would take for granted – are to be given as gifts following the Christmas dinner.
Concourse said it was hoping to raise S$25,000 (US$18,362) to purchase reusable lunchboxes for Willing Hearts’ ongoing meal distribution. The adoption of reusable lunchboxes will also help in reducing plastic waste.
*Anyone based in Singapore can help by donating toiletries including soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, facecloth, deodorant, body wash, towels of any size and shampoo. To do so complete the following steps:
