Coccinelle marks new season amid period of rapid expansion

Coccinelle will be showcasing its latest Spring/Summer Collection at the TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes at Bay Village Bay 1A.

The Italian designer brand has been raising its profile in the travel retail industry with the opening of more than 30 doors, in Europe, Russia, Asia Pacific and the USA in the first nine months of 2016.

Openings in Asia include Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 and Mactan Cebu International Airport, in collaboration with Regent Asia Group, as well as at Yangon International Airport Terminal 2.

Coccinelle is working to build up business within the Korean duty free market with openings in Seoul at Shilla I’Park Duty Free Shop, SM Duty Free Shop and Dongwha Duty Free Shop.

Coccinelle Head of Global Travel Retail Emanuele Mazziotta said: “The openings in Asia Pacific highlight the importance of this region for Coccinelle and strengthen our presence. We thank Regent Asia Group and Singapore Myanmar Investco Ltd for all their efforts and support in these openings.”

In Europe the brand is now present in the airport market at Munich Satellite Terminal 2; Frankfurt Terminal 2; Amsterdam Schiphol; Chisinau International; Oporto International; Belgrade Nikola Tesla International and in Russia at Sheremetyevo International Terminal D.

In partnership with Heinemann Americas Coccinelle has also opened at Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport Terminal C and, in partnership with International Duty Free Shops, the company has refurbished a 9sq m corner at Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport.

The trend continues to cruise ships with new openings on board MSC Crociere cruise ships and on Celebrity Cruises ships both in the Mediterranean and, in partnership with Starboard, on Costa Crociere cruise ships in Asia.

Mazziotta added: “The first nine months of 2016 have been very busy for Coccinelle, with more than 30 openings globally. We are delighted to have further strengthened our European business in Germany, The Netherlands, Portugal, Moldova and Serbia. We are also very honoured to enter the US market with Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport and to further build up our business in the Asia Pacific region and on cruise ships.”

The Spring/Summer 2017 Collection features bags, scarves, jewellery and small leather goods.
