Ciaran O’Neill to depart ARI and Beirut Duty Free; Maurice Burke takes over General Manager role

Ciaran 1LEBANON. Ciaran O’Neill, the experienced and well-respected General Manager of Beirut Duty Free, is leaving the company (and its parent Aer Rianta International) to return to his native Ireland.

Maurice Burke, one of the Irish company’s most seasoned campaigners, will take over O’Neill’s role. He has previously managed Aer Rianta International’s (ARI) operations in Bahrain, Qatar and Delhi.

O’Neill (pictured right) joined ARI in 2002 as Financial Controller for Beirut Duty Free and was promoted to General Manager in 2007. Since then he and his team have developed Beirut’s sales and consumer reputation and cultivated particularly strong relationships with both suppliers and stakeholders.

Prior to his time with ARI, O’Neill, an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, was a Financial Accountant and Project Manager for USIT International in Dublin, Ireland.

“We would like to thank Ciaran for his outstanding contribution in growing ARI’s business in Beirut Duty Free over the last 14 years and wish him every success in his future endeavours,” ARI said in a statement.
